Common questions

Are you a real estate brokerage?

No. EastTexasLakes.com is an independent guide. We don't list, sell, or broker property, we don't publish listing inventory, and we don't accept payment for referring anyone to an agent. If you're buying, work with a licensed Texas agent — you can verify any license free through the Texas Real Estate Commission.

Can you tell me what a property is worth?

No. We don't do valuations, and we'd be guessing. A licensed local agent or a certified appraiser is the right call.

Why doesn't my lake have listings on it?

Because we don't carry listings at all, on any lake. What we publish instead is the context behind a purchase: who controls the shoreline, what permits apply, whether the lot is deeded or leased, and what commonly goes wrong.

Can I advertise if I'm a broker or agent?

Yes. Advertising is clearly labeled as advertising and kept separate from our editorial coverage. Paying for a placement doesn't buy a recommendation. See the advertising page for details.

Do you cover lakes outside East Texas?

Not currently. We cover 29 lakes across the East Texas region. If there's one we've missed inside that footprint, we'd genuinely like to know.
