A guide to East Texas LakesAdvertise
Last updated: August 7, 2026
Short version: this is a static reference site. There are no accounts, no forms, and no newsletter, so we collect very little directly. What data does get gathered comes through Google Analytics and Google's advertising, and you can opt out of both.
Nothing that identifies you. The site has no login, no registration, no contact form, and no mailing list. If you email us, we have your message and your email address — that's it, and we use it only to reply.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages get read and how people arrive. It records things like approximate location, device and browser type, pages viewed, and time on page. We see aggregate patterns, not individuals.
You can opt out site-wide with Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We display advertising, including through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can control this through Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.
Some advertising on this site is sold directly by us. Direct advertisers receive aggregate performance information only — never information about individual visitors.
Cookies on this site come from Google Analytics and advertising partners, not from us directly. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in settings. Blocking them will not break the site.
If you're in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
If you're in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.
To exercise any of these, email info@easttexaslakes.com. We'll respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires.
This site isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we'll delete it.
We link to government agencies, water authorities, and other outside sites. Their privacy practices are their own, and we'd encourage you to read their policies.
The site is served over HTTPS. Because we hold almost no data, there is very little to expose — but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
We'll update this page and revise the date above if our practices change. Material changes will be noted here.
